DEEP DIVE COLOR
SOLD OUT
By popular demand! For the first time my online color workshop will be live and in-person.
Deep Dive : Color
This workshop unlocks secrets of color structure to enable you to paint with more freedom and confidence. “Painting from the heart” is not enough. To become a work of art, ideas and emotion must take form, organized into a coherent, expressive design. Master painters, like musicians, create harmonies intentionally. We'll decode color harmonies found in master paintings of many genres, styles, and time periods throughout art history. If you are ready to go deeper in your understanding of color this workshop is for you. I don’t teach how to paint like me, but how to paint like you, better than ever.
Topics include:
- How to Create Color Harmonies
- Image Structure: Key Concepts
- The Power of Hierarchy in Color
- The Secret of Color Transitions
- Seeing Color in Nature, Film, and Pop Culture
- Staying Open to Wonder, Curiosity, and Surprise
- Overcoming Personal Obstacles
- Painting with Confidence and Freedom
"The content is terrific. I have attended many workshops, and never had this level of instruction." - G. H.
"This is the richest workshop I have ever taken." - S. B.

Your growth as an artist is my priority as we study great artists to unlock the universal secrets of IMAGE STRUCTURE.
At a primal level, it’s the abstract image structure that moves a viewer-- the use of line, shape, space, value, color, and texture. This applies to any style or genre of painting because every good painting is good due to the underlying abstraction-- the power of the purely visual.
I don't teach how to paint like me, but how to paint like you, only better than ever before. My commitment is to help you reach your full potential, painting YOUR way, with YOUR voice and vision, with more freedom and confidence. You can paint representational or abstract; oils, watercolors, collage, and acrylics are welcome. Risk-taking will be celebrated. Come be encouraged and inspired in a fun, upbeat atmosphere and go home ready to create your best work yet.
